Lent Season of Prayer Guides are available at both of our campuses. Stop by the Life at Grandview table and pick up a copy. You can use this guide as you join us in person, on our Facebook page, or follow along on your own.

MISSIONS
La Ruta, Uruguay – David Ossa and Claudia Gonzales-Rubilar
We will be exploring La Ruta, Uruguay during the month of March. Last year, we were treated to a visit from the family: David and Claudia, Emma, Samuel and Lucas!
As a congregation, we welcomed your family to Grandview a year ago. In just a few days, it was clear that the congregation at Grandview fell in love with your work, but also your family itself. This first week we will get updates about the family. Why don’t you tell us about the children this week, and you and Claudia next week?
One big thing that’s coming up in the next couple of weeks is Lucas attending school. Although he’s only two and a half, we were told by the pediatrician that he needed to attend school to help improve his language skills. In Uruguay, that’s not a recommendation, but a mandate, so… he’ll start school in March! That changes a few things, some good, some not as great. We will have mornings without children, which means that team meetings will be a lot easier as we won’t have to take turns watching Lucas. It will also facilitate devotional time in the mornings, which is great and much needed. On the other hand, we weren’t planning on having to pay for school for him yet, so we are reviewing and changing our family budget. Other than that, it has always been a milestone in our family life when one of our kids goes to school. We hope and pray he’ll adapt to this new routine, teachers and new friends smoothly.
In Uruguay, the school system is a bit different, as there is no middle school. So you have 6 years of primary school and then 6 years of high school. Emma, our oldest, is beginning high school this March. It is a big change for her, and she has been struggling with the idea of facing something completely new, being the youngest of her class and now -most likely- the youngest in the entire high school makes her nervous.
Samuel began his fourth year of primary school last week. He was very excited to discover that he’s in the same class as most of his friends from last year—classes are usually mixed every year, but not this time! It was such a sweet surprise for him, especially after a tough transition coming back from time with our family in Chile.
Samuel has always found it hard to be away from our extended family. It’s a real gift that we’re close enough to visit almost every summer, but as a boy with BIG feelings, the first couple of weeks back are often tender. He misses sharing the simple, everyday moments with his grandparents, aunts, and uncles. He loves deeply, and because of that, he feels the distance deeply too.
At the same time, we are so grateful for the joy that defines him. He is the sweetest boy, and even in the middle of big emotions, his excitement about school and being with his friends again has brought a fresh sense of happiness to these first days back. Watching him reconnect, laugh, and settle into his routine has been such a gift—and a beautiful reminder of how resilient and full of life he is. This pictures is a couple of years old.
Learn More About our Missions Ministry Team
Grandview's Missions Ministry Team facilitates on-going relationships between our Grandview family and the missionaries/missions that we support as well as emphasizing the importance of missions in general. We host missionaries, plan events, learn about our mission partners, manage the Vision Fund (see below), oversee the Grandview Missions budget, and pray for God’s work around the world. New team members are welcome. Many opportunities for service are available. Please email Richard Phillips (2025 team leader) for more information about joining the team, to request long-term or short-term support, or to receive a current mailing list of our missionaries so that you can send cards and/or packages to them.

CANOPIES
Canopy Sign Up
Canopy Groups are an important way we gather together, share our lives, and grow to be the better followers of Jesus. If you're not currently part of a canopy and would like to hop in a group this spring, we would love to have you sign up on the Church Center app or by clicking here.
Your answers to the questions in the sign up, will help us match you with a group. As you can imagine, there are lots of moving pieces to connect schedules, locations, and preferences. We can't guarantee a perfect match, but we'll do our best to help you get connected with a great group.
What is a Canopy?
In an amazing natural phenomenon called “canopy shyness,” trees in some forests grow in patterns that allow light to permeate the forest below. The whole forest can be healthy and grow together by keeping space in the canopy. This is the idea behind Canopy at Grandview.
Our Canopies are small groups who come together once a week, every other week, or once a month. Whatever your fancy, there is a Canopy group for you.
Canopy Groups
Here is a list of some (but not all!) of our current Canopy Groups. If you would like to join a canopy or get more information about our canopies, fill out our Life at Grandview Form.

GIVING
GIVING
We have many ways to give. If you have any questions, you can contact the church office or our Treasurer - Brandon Rogers.
The Church Center App:
Download from Google Play or Apple App Store. (Links at https://churchcenter.com) Click the Give menu item. You may give your gift as one-time gift, or schedule recurring gifts, using a debit/credit card or directly from your bank account via ACH (e-check). If you want to “split” a single your gift between two or more funds, you will have to give online via the Church Website. Or alternatively, you can give two separate gifts to each fund.
The Church Website:
Go to https://grandviewchristian.org/ Click the Give menu item. This takes you to the same church center software as in the app but viewed on a webpage. You can give in the same way as the app described above. And here you can split your gift between two or more funds, easily.
Available Funds for Online Electronic Giving:
Grandview Buffalo Campus - For discretional spending for our Buffalo Campus, per budget. Used where needed most.
Grandview Cityview Campus - For discretional spending for our Cityview Campus, per budget. Used where needed most.
Partnership-Fund - Separate Fund for privately and confidentially helping members and others in need.
From time to time there are special funds, such as in memorial of someone from our congregation who has passed away, or for special gifts around the holidays.
If you want to give electronically to a fund not listed above, or give electronically in memory of a someone who is not currently listed please contact the Church Treasurer, Brandon Rogers, for assistance at treasurer@grandviewchristian.org.
Optionally covering Credit Card Processing Fees:
Our credit card processing fees are low & fixed. You can elect to cover those costs when making a gift by checking a checkbox indicating you want to do so. The cost is shown next to the checkbox. This is totally optional. If you cover credit card processing, that extra amount is added to your gift. The net gift amount appears on all receipts & giving statements.
FREE Electronic ACH (e-check) Giving:
Gifts can be made in church center using your checking or savings account, also known as ACH (or e-check). This costs Grandview nothing! How? The actual processing cost of $0.30 cents per gift is covered by a donor who has pledged to cover those fees for Grandview. That makes the Church Center ACH (e-check) giving free to Grandview and you!
And if you prefer, you can also voluntarily cover those costs when making your gift by checking the box indicating you want to do so. The cost (30 cents) is shown next to the checkbox. This is totally optional.
Cash and Checks:
Cash and checks are always welcome in the offering plate/giving boxes. You can split your gift between funds with a memo field note, or with separate checks, whichever you personally prefer. All checks should be payable to “Grandview Christian Church,” not payable to any fund or any campus.
Regardless of how you give a donation receipt is automatically emailed to you when your gift is processed (even when you give via cash or checks.) You can toggle that receipt feature on and off in the app (or online). If you need any assistance with any of the above, please contact the Treasurer.
Church Center is for “Giving”. Registrations are for “Buying”:
All Church Center giving is for tax deductible gifts only. You do not receive anything tangible. However, you can still e-pay for any “non-tax-deductible” payments for events or programing, such as Two4Two, Youth trips, or other special events as part of the registration process for those events.
Bank Bill Pay or Mailing a check to the Church:
You are always welcome to mail a check to the Church. Or have you bank draft a check to mail to the church (Bill Pay). Please keep in mind that the lead time for processing your gift is longer when mailing a check.
Mail all checks to:
Grandview Christian Church
Attention: Brandon Rogers
300 University Parkway
Johnson City, TN 37604
Please do not mail cash anywhere! And please do not mail checks to the Treasurer’s home address or any other staff member’s home address.
