What Now?

This semester we’re holding a conversation we’ve titled “What Now?” and here’s why: Last semester we claimed time to work through the Big Story of God. We started at the very beginning and worked through the big themes of Scripture, looking at the big overarching narrative of who God is and how he cares for and interacts with humanity.

In light of the Big Story of Scripture, this spring we will take 8 weeks to work through this next question, What Now? If we want to be people who want to pattern our lives in the way Christ demonstrated, we want to create a space where we can talk about what we’ve learned from that big story of Scripture and how we put that good news into practice in our current reality. We want to create a space where we can hold loving conversations about how we live with an identity firmly rooted in Christ, yet engage the real world with genuine love and care.

So, here’s how we’re going to go about that:

Our staff & discipleship team have chosen 8 topics, 8 pieces of our current culture that we feel are worth our time to think deeply about and hold healthy, grace-filled, loving conversations together, so that we might be more intentional and radiate the love of Christ in the world we find ourselves in today.

The topics we’ve chosen are big, but here’s the thing. We know the God who holds the future. We know the story he has called us to. It is the leading narrative. In a world where it might feel there is no good news, we wake up and know we hold that good news and are called to live as good news. Here’s a snapshot of the conversations ahead:

They are big topics – we know. But if we can learn to hold healthy, love-filled, gracious conversations together about these elements of our culture, I think we will become a more intentional people who can live in, and live out the Big Story we’ve been called to and radiate the love of Jesus more authentically and intentionally into the world around us.
