Fall Focus 2026

Generosity

This fall, we will explore what it means to be called as a people of generosity. Generosity is multifaceted, extending far beyond our finances. At its core, generosity is a posture of the heart—a way of seeing, receiving, and stewarding all that God has entrusted to us: our resources, possessions, time, gifts, talents, and influence.

Generosity is the willingness to offer what we have and who we are for the sake of what God is doing in the world around us. Throughout scripture, we encounter stories, teachings, and examples that reveal both the importance and the practical application of generous living.

In a culture often shaped by scarcity, self-protection, and accumulation, generosity remains one of the most distinctive and countercultural marks of God’s people. As we grow together this semester, our hope is to converse and learn that generosity is not simply something we do—it is part of who we are becoming as followers of Jesus. Through the work of the Spirit, generous living becomes a reflection of God’s own character, and it shapes the way we relate to God, one another, and the world.

As your group uses the material provided below, feel free to use it whatever way serves your group best. Each week will always contain a conversation starter question or two – they’re great questions that may work well around a dinner table or with dessert in hand to help make that mindset shift from work brain to community oriented, spiritual conversation. There will always be a video introduction that’s designed to introduce the topic, connect thoughts from week to week, and leave your group with a starting thought for conversation. There are also full discussion guides available for download below. Those will contain an additional study guide to read aloud as a group, some suggested scripture to dig in together, and some additional deeper discussion questions. You’ll also see a prayer prompt and additional resources for your leaders as they prepare for the conversation or for anyone interested in some extra study material connected to the topic each week – like podcasts, trustworthy articles, books, videos, etc. Your group may not have time to go through all the material provided, so feel free to pick and choose how your group structures your time together. Our hope is that the canopy you’re in becomes or continues to be a place where you form deep, caring, God-centered relationships where you can grow, ask questions, share the ups & downs of life, and pray for one another.
