The primary mode of communication that we use as a youth group is the Remind App App. This is especially important for last minute changes or reminders. You can add yourself to the GCC Youth or GCC Parents texts by using these links:
For Parents:

For Youth:

We occasionally send emails for larger events (like summer trips), but usually also include a link to that information through Remind.
Two4Two is a church-wide intergenerational gathering with a meal, rendezvous (intergenerational worship and interactive learning) and intergenerational classes. Youth split off into their own class we call Youth Worship, where youth take time to listen, sing and pray in a way that meets youth where they're at.
Youth Canopies are small groups for youth divided by age and gender and led by an intergenerational team of adults in our church.
The Youth Yard Sale is a fundraiser for youth summer trips (Riverwood & Cleveland). Youth contribute by helping with set up the Wednesday before and tear down on the last day of the sale.
Rake-O-Rama is a day of raking leaves for those unable in our community and at night we enjoy a sleepover and tons of games and snacks at the church.
LoveJC is a city-wide effort where local churches participate in acts of service on the same day.
We serve and build relationships with the residents at Riverwood Christian Community, a residential program for developmentally disabled adults in Louisville, Tennessee. Students completing 6-8th grade are invited.
We participate in a variety of projects that may include landscaping, renovation, and partnering with the City Life Center of downtown Cleveland. The trip is educational, relationship and service-oriented.
Easiest way to show videos:
(1) Plug HDMI cord into a laptop and play video.
(2) Find a room in the church with a Chromecast> Open Google Chrome browser on any laptop/Android tablet/Android phone> Open below link in Chrome browser> Click desired video> Click the three dots in the top right corner of Google Chrome> Click: "Cast..."> Select name of Chromecast (usually named after the room it's in)> Device should start showing its screen on the TV> Navigate what plays from your device, not from the TV controls.
