"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching,
the breaking of bread, fellowship, and prayer." Acts 2:42
Two4Two runs for ten weeks in the fall and ten weeks in the spring and is an attempt to practice Acts 2:42 as the church. For these ten weeks we do all we can to build relationships across generational lines, mixing the ages whenever possible. We meet on Wednesday nights and we play, eat, worship, and study together.
- 5:00-5:45 pm: The youth and children gather to play, hang out, and learn new things (Drawing and sketching, balloon animals, board games, sports, etc...).
- 5:45-6:15 pm: All preschoolers dine with their parents, but children in kindergarten through 12th grade are assigned to eat at tables with kids who aren't their age and with "table parents" who facilitate conversation and friendships at each table.
- 6:15-6:45 pm: All gather in the sanctuary for a relaxed time of intergenerational worship and a short message. We call this gathering, "Rendezvous."
- 6:45-7:30 pm: We break into smaller, age-graded groups for Bible studies.
Studies show that children with five meaningful adult relationships (besides their parents) make healthier grown ups later on. We believe that adults with five meaningful relationships with youth (besides their children) stay younger longer (we don't have any studies for that one, just our experience!)
During these ten weeks in the spring and ten weeks in the fall, you will get the chance to know a large swath of people by name as you work alongside others.
In fact, Two4Two thrives because of incredible involvement from our entire church community. How will you partner with us to help kids, youth and young adults, families, and senior saints develop spiritually through these intergenerational friendships? There are many opportunities to plug in! Contact Heather Lawson with questions and let us know how you intend to serve.
Please contact Heather Lawson to suggest alternate ways you can help
if none of these volunteer times work for you.
