LoveJC United is a new way to serve the people of Johnson City alongside members of area churches from a variety of denominational backgrounds. The plan is simple: On the morning of Saturday, Oct. 21, people from Grandview Christian Church, First United Methodist, Antioch Church, and the International Christian Assembly will gather together for breakfast and a time of prayer, then we will disperse to different service project sites throughout the community.
We will work together with ministry partners supported by all of the churches involved, as well as other area ministries and places of need, to spread the good news of God's Kingdom through service and action--together. This is a great opportunity, not only to get involved with ministries Grandview supports and to get to know others within our own congregation, but to foster unity and cooperation with other area churches while showing the love of Jesus to the folks of Johnson City.
More information about specific service opportunities during LoveJC United are forthcoming, but we can say that there will be projects available for ages 5 and up, and that those planning the event are making an intentional effort to mix folks from the different churches at all of the job sites.
Until more specific information about this event is announced, mark your calendars for Saturday, Oct. 21, and contact Brandon Waite, with questions or requests for more information.
