What is Celebrate Recovery?

Celebrate recovery (CR) is a Christ-centered outreach ministry designed to help people recover from all life’s hurts, habits and hang-ups through a 12- step recovery program. When you hear the words “12- step recovery program,” you might immediately think of recovery from substance abuse or Alcoholics Anonymous. It is true that Celebrate Recovery is designed to help individuals with habits of substance abuse. However, CR is also designed to help people who struggle with hurts like a history of abuse or trauma, and hang-ups like anxiety, grief or depression. CR provides a healing environment for those of us with a wide range of emotional hurts, habits and hang-ups.

What are Celebrate Recovery Step Studies?

CR step studies are small group, bible-based studies that teach and guide us through the 12 steps of recovery. There three different types of small groups, each group individualized to meet the varying needs of individuals’ hurts, habits and hang-ups. Individuals are encouraged to join the type of group that best fits their needs.

  • Hurts & Hang-ups Group: Hurts…people who have experienced emotional, physical or sexual abuse or have been victims of trauma. Hang-ups…people who struggle with anxiety, depression, or co-dependency.
  • Habits Group: People that struggle with addiction or are actively in recovery from pills or alcohol.

Additional important information

  • CR step study groups are gender specific.
  • CR step studies are led by trained small group leaders.
  • CR step studies are an excellent introduction to a Christ-centered recovery program.

If you feel that your life has become unmanageable and you want to make some changes, you are encouraged to contact Doug Fox at (423) 502-4158 to join one of the following step study groups
